Gnome Week : my crafts !!!

Well, another challenge is accomplished!!!

Last Tuesday, with the help of Sarah's book, I launched the new craft of the week : it's all about gnomes!!!
I did my own version, following the pattern given by Sarah...

....and I added a new design, based on the one given in the book...

Even this time, I decided to work with felt and to create a couple of gnome figures to put under the toadstools shown last week (here)! The toadstools base looks a little bit different now, because I really didn't like it in black....I think red is much better!!!

Coming back to the gnomes!! I choose some fancy felts to work with...

I started with "him"....

Do you remember his old friend? He kept us company while cutting/assembling all the pieces...

I started even to work on "her" ...

What a couple of little colourful gnomes....!!!!.....

So, I grabbed my shiny threads box and started to sew and sew...

and what about her???

....such a sweet sweet couple....

...from my studio they moved to their toadstools....

Now a group photo...!!!...

Just in time to link HERE !!! Phew!!!

P.S.: tomorrow the new weekly craft theme!!! See you!!!

Make it ! The Granny Bunny !!!

You know, this picture from my  Instagram feed  has collected more than 900 likes ... ... and a colourful crocheter named Karin @woolfieber , made her own version just looking at my pic (you can find her work  HERE  ) !!!! My idea, since the beginning , was to prepare a photo tutorial for you, but do you really need one ? These Granny Bunnies are so easy to crochet, believe me !!!! YOU NEED : some colourful mercerised cotton a 3,5 mm hook a pair of scissors a tapestry needle beads for embellishments (optional) Please note that I follow the US crochet terminology, thank you ! Each bunny measures 13 cm in height and it can be used for different purposes : bunting, hanging decorations, appliques, brooches, on napkin rings and more !!!! The sky's the limit !!! You can use this pattern even with different yarns and, consequently, hook sizes !!! ;oD Abbreviations : DC = double crochet ch = chain SC = single crochet 2SCtog = 2 single crochet

Make it ! The Granny Yarn Chain !!!

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS ???? SURE YOU ARE !!! I now that!!!! ;oD So during this last week I was showing you via Instagram (see  my personal feed ) some colourful pictures about my new crochet w.i.p. , which I completed last night ... ... so this morning, before school/office time a couple of boys helped me with the last photos for this blog post ... TA-DAH ... The beauty of this project resides in the fact that is adaptable to any extent, any kind of yarn and any corner of your home (in or out!) !!! The inspiration and "creative kick" derives from two other projects I've seen around :  The Chain Statement Necklace  by my dear friend Miki from  Set Free My Gypsy Soul  and  Peggy's Comfy Indoors Blanket  by Pip Lincoln from  Meet Me at Mike's  !!! Thank you both, girls !!! It has been a long time since I've been wanting to crochet (or even knit !) a paper chain ... I made some long paper chains for our Christmas tree back in Indonesia but I al

Mega Granny Square Jumper !!!

I started to crochet my first granny square for my jumper-to-be on last 4th of October... ... and little by little, crocheting on a daily basis, I added rounds after rounds ... ... while I was working on other two w.i.p.s, like my  PONCHO  and the  GEODE PILLOW  ... ... and when I completed 26 rounds for the first granny, I wanted to block it to see its real measures : it reaches 74 cm for each side (more or less!) ... The yarns I've been using were all from my personal stash, no new yarn was bought for this project and some are discontinued, while others I have no more the band with all the details or brand. I will try to give you a kind of yarn list, starting from the center of the granny (I was working with a 6mm hook, btw) : KATIA AZTECA shade 7837  fuchsia-maroon-brown (53%wool, 47%acrylic) FILATI TROPICAL LANE SPENDOBENE SUPER SPORT shade 266  off white (47%merino wool, 53%dralon) FILATI TROPICAL LANE SPENDOBENE SUPER SPORT shade 34  mustar
