In February, I made my first triangular scarf ( HERE) ... .... and yesterday I completed a new one !!!! I decided to follow the same pattern used for the previous scarf, but selecting a different colours scheme, more bluish .... Using the same circular knitting needles (4,5mm), I started my project with a royal blue (found in my yarn stash) from SIRDAR "Wash'n'Wear" DK double crepe and I chose other yarns to add later on ... It was a calm knitting, as I used to knit some rows each time (very rare!) I was getting bored with my crochet projects (yes, more than one at a time!) ... When the royal blue was gone (no more from my stash), I decided to join (look HERE) the new colour ( ROWAN RYC cotton jeans, shade 363 blue wash, 2 balls) ... After this shade, I decided to add few rows (I ended my work at row 220) of SIRDAR Snuggly DK shade 0385 twisted blue ... and off the knitting needles ... Honestly, even though I love blues, ...

Scarves and Japanese crochet books are a kind of obsession of mine ... I know, but there is nothing wrong with it. I love these books for a lot of reasons, especially the styling and the graphs... I find hard sometimes to follow a written pattern, because each designer has her/his own way to put down directions and they can omit something that for me, instead, is necessary to understand the design/motif. Furthermore, not knowing any Japanese word (mostly because I cannot read it!!!), I feel better because I avoid the reading of superlative adjectives attributed to the crochet works displayed , which maybe are simply nice and not so extraordinary .... I just look at the picture and I value by myself if it's worth it or not the hard work : so simple!!! So, in one of my favourite books (you can see the cover and the picture of the chosen pattern ai the above picture), on pages 22/23, I found the "Zigzag Border Muffler", while the chart is on page 73. The design calls ...

Two weeks ago (more or less) my nonna Miranda ( my grandma) went to the hospital because of ischemia .... Luckily, after a week there, she came back home with no consequences (she is allergic to a lot of drugs and sometimes she finds the one that really hurts her ....).... I was in contact with my mum everyday just to check how nonna was (Maputo is not really close to Milano...) and to avoid panic or guilt feelings as I couldn't be there, I started to crochet a long scarf, full of hearts (and in the colours my nonna likes most), to express my love for her .... I hope to find a colleague of my husband going to Italy now for work reasons, so I will give him the scarf for my nonna (office headquarters are in Milano, so ...) .... Last December, I saw a very simple and cute scarf knitted by Angie ( le monde de sucrette) and I thought to knit one for me, too, but then I was busy with the gifts to prepare for family and friends back in Italy .... so nothing was done for me!!! Luckily, some days ago, while browsing through my blogs list, I found a post from Ilaria ( IDA interior lifestyle) , who was proposing the same (she added a pompom!) piece of clothing .... I didn't have any excuse to wait longer for knitting my own triangular scarf!!!! ;oD So, I started .... Do you want to start one, too ??? Well, you need : some yarn ! My personal choice was : Lana Grossa Basics Calmo (59% acrylic, 24% cotton and 17% linen), shade 207. All my 4 balls of yarn (50g each) have been used for this project.
