....Eventually, today I can show you some pics taken while we were in Bali last week...
I think you need some time and a cuppa to relax and enjoy this virtual trip...
Our hotel (Alila Manggis) was really quiet and nice, not a typical huge touristic resort...
....but, obviously, we didn't spend all our days relaxing along the pool.....
We visited the tea plantations that embellish the slopes of the major volcano (Agung) in Bali..
...that same day we visited a luxurious plantation (coffee, tea, banana, chocolate, spices &C., ....) called Satria Agrowisata- Gianyar, Bali, where we saw beautiful plants, flowers and fruits...
....at the end of the visit, there was the sampling of different kinds both of coffee and tea...
...these furry guys in the mini cages (...no comment, I could be very very rude...) are the producers of the most popular indonesian coffee : the Asian Palm Civets (nocturnal animals....see how sleepy are they?..sweet...) . They eat the coffee beans, which are not digested and pooed....you have, in this way, the notorious Luwak coffee, that is really expensive!!!!!
I was talking about a coffee&tea free tasting.....all 4 of us enjoyed it so much!!!.....
After this lovely spot, our guide brought us to visit the Tampak Siring Temple also known as the Holy Spring Water Temple in Gianyar...
....and to complete the tour, a religious procession to celebrate the Galungan, that symbolize the victory of Virtue upon Evil...
.....enough for today, right? ;oD

Hi Alessandra - thanks for sharing your trip with us. What a beautiful place it is. Did the coffee taste better being so fresh? Not sure I fancy the one poo ed out by the little critters!! xxx
ReplyDeleteHa the name of the hotel in the first pic - in Penang we lived in a community of villas called Alila! Is that a spiny orb weaver spider I spot there? Looks like a great trip with some interesting coffee tasting to be had too. Did you pop ov to Lombok as well? Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey Ale, lovely pics, looks like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, did you try the Luwak coffee?

it's a shame that these furry guys have to live such a poor life by the way. considering the fact that the coffee they "produce" will be sold for hundreds of euros! :(
ReplyDeleteNo.. non è abbastanza! Ancora, ancora, ancora!
ReplyDeleteBali è testa a testa sulla nostra lista per la meta estiva con il Guatemala.. anche se noi punteremmo al Guatemala!
Bacio e buon ritorno!
Looks like you had a nice trip - would enjoy the spices!
