Granny Rectangles , second thoughts!

Helloooo!!! As some of you may recall, I've been working on granny rectangles since I made my first granny chain  HERE  . I made an updated version of that design few months later, when I was contacted by Claire Montgomerie to submit a granny bunting pattern for issue 100 of Inside Crochet magazine (look  HERE  ). During last spring (in May) I made a couple of necklaces based on the original pattern of my granny rectangles and I showed the results on my  Instagram feed  . Recently I started a chevron blanket, using both the granny stitch and some granny rectangles arranged according to the herringbone pattern, as you can see : Anyway, why I'm here today bothering you about granny rectangles??? The answer is very simple : I just wanted to update the pattern, as I was no more convinced about it as I didn't like how the corners of the rectangle were shaped! So, if you are interested, I'm going to show you what I did for the new granny rectangle and some...

Make it ! The Granny Yarn Chain !!!

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS ???? SURE YOU ARE !!! I now that!!!! ;oD So during this last week I was showing you via Instagram (see  my personal feed ) some colourful pictures about my new crochet w.i.p. , which I completed last night ... ... so this morning, before school/office time a couple of boys helped me with the last photos for this blog post ... TA-DAH ... The beauty of this project resides in the fact that is adaptable to any extent, any kind of yarn and any corner of your home (in or out!) !!! The inspiration and "creative kick" derives from two other projects I've seen around :  The Chain Statement Necklace  by my dear friend Miki from  Set Free My Gypsy Soul  and  Peggy's Comfy Indoors Blanket  by Pip Lincoln from  Meet Me at Mike's  !!! Thank you both, girls !!! It has been a long time since I've been wanting to crochet (or even knit !) a paper chain ... I made some long paper chains for our Christmas tree back in ...

Summer "scarves" !!!!

Before leaving Maputo for our summer holidays in Italy, I started (and completed!) some other little projects… I have a passion for circles, so I crocheted a big pile of them … … and when I decided it was enough, I began to join them with a colourful simple border with picots … …. so at the end I obtained a kind of necklace/scarf as you can see me trying it on … I made even another one, but with a white border : this time the final effect was more "cold" … … and my mum took that one !!!! mine! mum's! I did even an experiment with some pink and red diamonds … … and when I added the green border, this necklace/scarf reminded me the tail of a kite, don't you think? I made even a proper scarf (!!!!), just following  the Arctic Scarf  pattern by Sarah London … Happy Weekend, xxxx Alessandra Today links :  Link your Stuff! ,  Busy Fingers Showing Off #97  and  Craft Schooling Sun...
