Make it ! Vertical garland !!!
I don't know if you have done some (or just one! ;oD) embellished granny squares from my tutorial, but in case, I would love to show you what I did with mine!!!
I took all 3 of them and with a pom pom maker ( the small one), I did 9 (you can do less, more or none at all!!!) little and colourful pom poms
I decided even to add a yarn doll ( HERE the instructions!) ....
I had in mind a vertical garland, so I started to join (using knots) the pieces from the bottom-up, and the first elements were the yarn doll, one pom pom and one of the embellished grannies
As you can see from the above picture and the following one, the red pom pom seems the wig of the yarn doll!!!!
Then I collected other 3 pom poms to join (knotting the tails in the back, as I let pass them in the corners of the granny squares) the last granny to the 2nd one...
At this point I joined the first granny to the one in the middle, with the help of other 3 pom poms
Last touch : on the top of the corner of the first granny, I simply knotted a red velvety ribbon ( I made a loop big enough to hang the garland somewhere!) and the last 2 pom poms left
The garland can dangle from a chest of drawers
or from a bookcase, for example
...this is where I like it most!!!

a new doll on the way...
I needed some inspiration, so i took out ("again!" you might say!) "Stitch by Stitch" by Jane Bull (see here ), and I found a quick pattern to knit a doll (The lollipop dolls, on page 100!).....
...so yesterday, in the late afternoon, I started to knit a head
followed by the body...
....the legs....
....the arms...
Some close ups now....
It's funny, though... while I was taking those pictures, the first thing that came to my mind was Doctor Frankenstein!!! Probably because we are in October, you know....Halloween....!!??!!
"Look! It's moving. It's alive...It's alive, it's moving, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, it's alive, IT'S ALIVE!"
Well, luckily I don't need to reach a cemetery to find all I need for my little doll... I think an haberdasher's shop will do !!
Some buttons, threads, just a little sewing will transform her....in a beauty!! She needs some hair and a nice dress, too!!
I think that the connection with Frankenstein is due to the fact that the doll lies on a table like the Monster... :oD
Today I join Creative Friday !!! Be curious and follow me! Thank you!
P.S.: remember my Blog Birthday Giveaway is still on! Have a look here for more details!! Thanks!

Knitted party favours!!!!
As someone of you know, my "little" son Tobia turned 10 last monday (here) and today we had his B-party!!! For this occasion, some days ago I collected a pair of knitting needles and some balls of colourful yarn...
.....but to knit what??
Well, I'll show you through a nice amount of pictures taken during the w.i.p..... If you'd love to follow me in this yarn journey, please, you are all welcome!!! Grab a cuppa with you and relax...
So.....aren't they fantastic??? Super easy to knit (and a lot of fun and surprise while shaping them!!), just too many tails to weave in ...!!! As they are intended to be in the party bags, this mean they are not meant to stay in my home forever....it's hard to give them away!!! I think I'm gonna knit another bunch of them very soon!! ;oD Happy Days!!!
The pattern and the inspiration come from the latest book by Jane Bull : "Stitch by Stitch - A beginner's guide to needlecraft". I strongly recommend it even for adults and non beginners : a lot of brilliant projects are waiting for you!!!
"Bye Bye!!" from these little dudes!!! I'll miss you guys!!!
See you soon, xxx
P.S. : You'll find these guys and more crafts over here : Creative Friday and Link your Stuff !!!
