"Just a bunch of triangles…." this was the title of my last post about the triangles I started to crochet following this Danish pattern….
….but, right now, I have a nice pile of them….
….obviously, I still have some work to do, but I wanted to share with you the translation I made from the original pattern !!!
Maybe, you'll be tempted to crochet a shawl, too!!!
I'm using a 3,5mm hook and this is what I crochet for each triangle (please, remember that I use US crochet terms! thank you!) :

I'm using a 3,5mm hook and this is what I crochet for each triangle (please, remember that I use US crochet terms! thank you!) :
- make a slip knot and chain 4. Make a slip stich in the fourth chain from the hook, so to form a ring
- round 1 :I prefer to start with chain 3 (= first Double Crochet) and then crochet 10 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch in the top of your first stitch.
- round 2 : chain 3 (= first DC), chain 6, 4 DCs, chain 6, 4 DCs, chain 6 and 3 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch.
- round 3 : chain 3, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch , 4 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 4 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch and 3 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch.
- round 4 : chain 3, 3 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 10 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 10 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch and 6 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch.
- round 5 : chain 3, 6 DCs, (3DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 16 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 16 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch and 9 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch.
- round 6 : chain 3, 9 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 22 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 22 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch and 12 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch.
- round 7 : chain 3, 12 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 28 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch, 28 DCs, (3 DCs, chain 6, 3 DCs) around the arch and 15 DCs. Close the round with a slip stitch and fasten off.
You can adjust the pattern as you like.
I never start a round with a DC (as, instead, stated in the original pattern), but I prefer to chain 3 !
About the arch of 6 chains : I crochet 5 chains instead of 6 and I think I'll prefer to crochet 4 next time/shawl!
If you would like to make this shawl, you need to know that you have to crochet 49 triangles in total.
There are some tassels to make, too. The pattern suggests 15 of them, each made with 17 threads long 26 cm (before folding and trimming them, if I have understood correctly!!!!).
I have 25 triangles done ( the 26th is still on the hook!)…..
Have fun !!!!
I SO like your triangles.
