You had a hint in this post …
I've worked this new shawl just following Sucrette'granny shawl graphic : thank you very much Sucrette!!! It's easy to follow and quite addictive !!!
I've been using a 4mm hook with two strands of yarn ( baker's twine effect! ), crocheting a total of 52 "rounds"….
The main edging is made of picots ( each picot is made of 6 chains ) crocheted in the chain-1 space.
Around the neck I preferred to opt for a very simple idea : I've worked a line of slip stitches all around!
My old friend has modelled it for you to see …
…. what to say or add ?
….. I'm HAPPY !!!!!!!

I love the way you mix your colours, you really have an eye for it. The combination is quite exotic. Could it be the the influence of Djakarta?

Wowee wow! This beauty brought my browsing to a screeching stop! I love shawls, and I have to find out more about this truly lovely shawl of yours! I am in love with the WAY you did the double strands. It gives a "heather" sort of look. Did you use black as the second strand throughout the entire shawl? I hope I find the answer here, when I begin to read the post..yep, I am commenting before reading the post. Just had to let you know what a beautiful shawl you'd made asap! Now, I am going to go read how you crafted this. 😄😲
ReplyDeleteHi Maschelle!!!! I love the idea to comment before reading !!!!!! ;oD
DeleteThe second strand was purple from the beginning ( used with blue, red and yellow), then it was blue ( used with hot pink, grey, pink and white), then it was b&w for the last 4 rounds!!!!
thank you for your enthusiastic comment !!!!
xxxxxxxxx Ale

ReplyDeleteAlison xx
Of course it is lovely! YOU made it! :) Have a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeleteMolto bello Ale e sembra anche pratico, lo vedo bene su cappotti e giacche quando fa molto freddo, qui invece è scoppiato il caldo africano , ma magari in autunno ci penserò a farmene uno : )
ReplyDeleteMaddalena
