A new project....completed!!!

Let's start with some pictures about my new crochet creation and then we'll talk about it, ok??

It's the biggest granny square I've ever crocheted (11 rounds). To embellish it, I've added 2 rounds in double crochet (in red) and a lovely picot (!!!!) edge !!! But it's not yet completed....After blocking different blocks ( big one and mini ones!), I started to gather different pom poms, some ribbons, a bamboo stick (that I painted in bright yellow), some safety pins, some pyssla plastic beads (from IKEA), and .....look at the transformation !!!

Yes, I've added even a knitted butterfly brooch.....do you like it? I simply love it!!
Anyway, this morning I've hammered a nail in the wall by the staircase and....OPLA', a granny square kitsch panel on the wall!!!!

I notice in it a mix of inspirations, like tuareg ornaments (I've spent six years of my life in Egypt, ;-) ) or even
some hungarian/russian folkloristic handicrafts....what do you think?
I'm so happy, honestly completely smitten with the result that I've already started a new one...

and there is a different thing also on the way...

I'm so thrilled when my days are so colourfully creative!!!! I imagine that the same feeling happens even to you, my crafty friends!!

My hands....

Here I am!!!

Some quiet days here at homemade@myplace !!!
The reasons for this short absence are mostly 3 :

1. Even if my birthday was lovely, honestly I don't like the "ageing" part, you know....and a witty friend of mine kindly reminded me that we just entered (it was her b-day. too!!) our late 40s....grrr!!!! I was a little bit depressed, not really in a good mood...anyway, let's go on...!!! ;-))))
2. my husband had some healthy problems because of some kidney stones, so imagine his pain....luckily he feels better now!!
3. I was busy with some work, because I had an order to fulfill : 3 3D fish necklaces for 3 young girls, who will celebrate their b-days next weekend....!!! So my crafty hands created the followings :

I really like these velvety beads!!!! I love the hue of the colours (so vivid!) and the fact that those beads are so light, that you can enjoy the necklace around your neck all day long without having the annoying feeling of "heaviness"!

But that's not all!!! What about some granny squares? the big ones?
Both my kids has chosen the colours for their next winter (I know we are in Indonesia, but the ACs are on all year round, so we can enjoy the cosyness of a wool blanket!) blankets....

In the evenings, while kids are in bed sleeping, I sit on the sofa surronded by all I need for my crochet time (hook, yarn, scissors, tapestry needle)!!! The tv is on, my hubby and Margot quietly sit beside me and we enjoy together this happy time!

That's all, my dears! Sorry, but now I have to leave you, because I have to cuddle a little boy (his big brother is away for a school trip....we all miss him!!!) and I have to arrange the dinner....

Birthday Girl(s)!!!!!

....Oh yes, today has been my great day!!!!! Not only mine to be honest, as I have a twin sister living in New York....So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to us 2, but even to Ruzwana, a good friend who lives in Kuala Lampur (Malaysia)!!!!!
The morning started really good, with breakfast in bed (cappuccino, pancakes, kiwi, yogurth, danish pastry), all prepared by my 3 boys, who got me even two bunches of fresh flowers!!!

Then, I found even a traditional chichens' cage with inside two colourful chicks

and from Singapore's Universal Studios, my kids gifted me a big soft Gingy

with 2 lovely birthday wishes cards handmade by them (!!!!)

Even my husband handmade his card for me with a big hint of what I'll receive in few days (can you see?) : I can't wait !!!!!

Later in the morning (our 11am more or less), I and the kids called via Skype my twin, so that we could sing for her the "Happy Birthday" song !!! In New York it was midnight, so the 20th of May was just starting...!!

Lots of wishes on Facebook and via emails : could I ever ask for more????
I'm really spoiled and happy!!!!

back from Singapore!!!

It was fun for all 4 of us !!!
The first day was spent almost at the Universal Studios....

....while the next day we enjoyed some window shopping, a nice stroll and the visit to the Science Centre...



....and now we are back home, satisfied and happy-happy!!!
