Many W.I.P. !!!

WIP: tea towel!

So many ideas that pop every hour in my mind!!!! My hands are so impatient to start each crafty plan that I've started different projects and the time is never enough to complete any of them......Probably there are too many wip in the house right now....

This is my first owl! One day he/she will be ready to fly to the house of a very good friend of mine......

What about these ones? Except for the first one on the left (it was my first attempt!), I'm in love with the bright colours of these chunky cuffs.....

Another one on the knitting needles! They are fast and so simple to knit (and so addictive!).......

Oh yes, a bag! I've knitted this one some time ago and I'm not so happy about the colours selection....Probably I should complete the sewing and it could be I'll fall in love with this bag, too! I hope!

A useful tip to the ones who like to knit with more than one yarn/cotton threads at a time like I always do!

Collect a shoes box and on the top of it make holes (as many as you need). I've made four of them and in the future I can add more if I need to knit with more colours. Then open the box....

....and put inside the yarn/cotton balls you will use in your project. From each ball pull a lenght of thread and let it passes in one hole from the inside to the outside of the box lid! Easy peasy!

So you can knit whatever you like without the constant nightmare to stop your work every few minutes to untangle the threads.....!!!!

I conclude my show with a batch of felt swirlies....YUMMY!

See you soon, xxx

My first Bazaar in Jakarta!

I did it! My first bazaar in Asia!! It's so funny  to think about it in these terms!! I'm still tired for yesterday experience, but even so happy for this kind of opporunity! You can meet a lot of lovely and creative people and some nice customers, too!
The bazaar was located in a traditional indonesian restaurant and it was perfect for the feeling of warm and cozyness! I had a small table (next time I'll book at least two!) where to unload my stuff and it was quite difficult to organize a nice display, as you can see....

...and this made me think about how to improve my next exhibition in the following bazaar (on the 29th of November), so last night I didn't sleep a lot because I was writing down a long list of things to do......
I have to thank a very good friend for her kind attention yesterday morning at the opening of the show, because she arrived with a hot cappuccino and some sweets (baked by herself) for me to start my day in a very lovely way....Grazie di cuore Paola, ti voglio tanto bene!!!!
Paola took even this picture...

...Here we are, I and Suzanna! I met Suzanna some weeks ago (a common friend introduced me to Suz : thank you Janet!) and we discovered to share the same passion : knitting! We had a lot of fun yesterday, sharing tables and thoughts all day long during the bazaar!!!! A big thank you even to you Suz!!!

See you soon, xxx

Another walk in the neighbourhood

Last Saturday morning I went out with my hubby for a new walk in the vicinity! I don't want to add any comment to these new pics, but I wish you can take some pleasure from them just with your eyes....

...Maaf (sorry), but the show is over! I hope you have been pleased with it! see you soon, xxx

Just a kind reminder

....I'll be there with my own table and all my creations!!! Please, come along with a friend (or more : they are all welcome!) and enjoy your day with me and the other vendors at the bazaar! I'm sure it will be a lovely day! Thank you, xxx

Mission accomplished!!!

After 2 weeks, I can happily say that my secret project is done! I was not so sure to reach this point, even because the work required (it's all hand sewn ) was really challenging and I'm not an expert in sewing techniques, just a willing autodidact! For this simple reason, usually there are a lot of mistakes and an infinite of do/undo..... So, at a certain point I decided to hammer on some rivets! I did it on the floor of my studio because I was not so sure about the response of my table to all my brutal hammering....

When the banging stopped and the rivets were in place with no damage (fingers still safe!), I started to sew together the two parts with a very tiny blanket stitch! At the end of this relaxing part I started to be exited, because I knew that the project was finally reaching its shape....

Phew! Just after that, I opened a box in which I store some colourful metallic hooks, but it was not simple to choose the right one...anyway, purple maybe...

Another problem to solve : the strap! Do you think that after all this work I just went outside to buy one? NO WAY! So I started the strap, sewing it with patience and patience...

Yes! Some blue ric rac on a nice red&white gingham ribbon....!! So the last chapter of the crafty adventure was not so close to an end.....

....Margot was supposed to stay there as my supporter, but she was more interested in looking outside the window, maybe some little birds? I was too busy to remember those details....

......After hours spent in sewing (ric rac on one ribbon and both red and green blanket stitch to join two ribbons together), I finally had my FIRST FELT MATRIOSKA BAG , all handmade by me !!!!! BRAVA!!

So, I and my little boy had a try with this cutie! I was so proud of me at the end of this everlasting task : I didn't believe that I could see an end to all this ! I'm absolutely smitten by my little bag, and you?

Quiet days

Tomorrow my kids will be back in school, after two weeks of half term....!!! A very long holiday! I was really scared at the beginning : two boys at home all day long for 15 days? Actually it was really good! And I had even the time to enjoy my garden...

...The first thing in the morning : to sweep a huge amount of shells ( I don't remember the proper name of this local fruit that resembles the lychees) on the swimming pool floor, because of the heavy rain (wet season now in JK) and the wind!

....even in the swimming pool you can point out some shells (you see the black dots on the right?), but they can stay there for a little while!! I'm not really talented in "scuba sweeping"....

... some fungi in the soil...

.....and some beautiful flowers to smell and admire.....

...and a very lovely and quiet garden.... No kids outside ("It's too hot mum, so we prefer to play inside") and I have the idea to grab a good book and a fresh drink to enjoy on one of these seats.....

The one on the right IT'S MINE!!! No smelly shoes nearby!!

See you soon, xxxx
