Mini colourful pillows!!!

Back in February and in March, I was experimenting with some oval crocheted table runners, to prepare myself for this big project....

I had fun in playing with table runners, but I didn't know how to reuse my first products, that were nice but not so good to display on a table!!! ;oD

Yesterday afternoon I HAD THE IDEA !!!!!!
Easy peasy my dears : I had just to fold my projects in halves widthwise!!!!!

Follow me.....

...then, I took a hook, some colourful contrasting yarns and I started to sew the 2 halves together using just a row of slip stitches, that formed a nice chain in the front...

....and a kind of running stitch on the back....

This one resemble a heart in its final shape (after filling it with some toy stuffing)....

I sewed even the other one....

....that was completed in a flash.....

this one, instead, reminds me of a horse saddle....!!!!!......

They are ready now for some group photos.....

....and this is their final destination (yes, our sofa in the living room!) ......

...to be shared with some old friends.... ;oD ......

Granny squares for a triangular cushion !!!!

These little fellas are with me since a long time (do you remember them?) and I decided to play with them...

....and I decided to sew a cushion from them !!! Luckily I have a little experience with cushions ( have a look at my @home made tab and just scroll down to find the images and the links to the posts!), but I wanted a different one even if made with granny squares. So I laid some squares on the floor to understand the pattern to form a triangle...

When I was sure about it, I chose some green yarn to join the squares into stripes, using single crochet stitches (I love the ridge that they create!) only in the back loops of each stitch...

The lines perpendicular to the green ones, instead, were crocheted with hot pink ...

Just to check if I did right....

So, I kept the fabric folded in half and I started to crochet a simple border (again a SC one, but not only in the back of the loops) using some orange....

After completing the first side of the cushion, I put inside a neutral pillow to give the right softness to my cushion and then I crocheted even the other side and.....HERE IT IS :

.....still tempted to add some pompoms/tassels/fringes......!!!!! ;oD

Two more gifts....

One pillow for a couple of friends....

...and a new scarf for a "gothic" girl (I'm still crocheting the skulls!!! ;oD)...

....this scarf has the same pattern as this one . The differences are : 80 eyelets for the foundation row (instead of 100!) and 7 rounds worked ( not just 6 ).
