Whale Week : my crafts !!!

A couple of months ago, I bought a knitting magazine that included as a "gift" a canvas tote...

I decided to use it as the ideal base for my first applique' project.....!!!!.....

Two playful whales cut out from felt and stitched on the tote bag with simple stitches...

The head of the big whale is decorated with a blanket stitch, because this is the opening of an external pocket...

I'm quite happy with the result...

Butterfly Week : my crafts !!!!

This time I was very lazy, I admit it!!!
I didn't want to do something very crafty or time consuming, so I decided for a simple thing that is really nice on my huge handbag....

I traced all the butterflies' templates (small, medium and large) that were in the book, then cut out from thick felt pieces 3 of them....I attached them with some jump rings to a red chain, that right now is happily dangling from my bag...

Rainbow Week : my crafts !!!

Just few pics to show you what I did with the rainbow template....

....just cut some arches from my fancy felt and added some velvety beads, all sewn with colourful egyptian cotton threads to have a witty brooch....

.... because I want to draw a smile from a "sweet 16"!!!!!
I think I can make it, right???? ;oD

Flower Week : my crafts !!!

This was an easy thinking!

I grabbed an oval canvas (20x30cm) and some acrylic colours, as ochre yellow...

...and some neon pink...

...then, using the template given in the book, I cut out some daisies from white felt and I chose 3 buttons for the centres...

...with some red cotton thread, I sew both the buttons and the flowers on the canvas...

with a simple backstitch and some green thread, I sew later the stems...

to finish the ochre vase, I glued a ribbon along the "border"and used it even around the canvas...

Last touch? Another ribbon, this time a floral one, on the top back of the "piece of art" (!!!!!), just to hang it somewhere in the house...

Mustache Week : my crafts !!!

.....Tobia wanted to try it on, before I had glued the goggly eyes on....

....YES!!!! I made a sleeping mustache mask, a very simple one, but funny! I think....
