Diamond Week : my crafts !!!!

My work has been based on the bigger diamond shape found on Sarah's book "Craft-A-Day"...

...and I even thought to use a different one from minieco....

I cut out 2 "diamonds" from white felt...

then I traced, with the help of a pencil, the minieco's gem on one of my diamonds...

....and I started to embroider the gem with some glossy grey thread...

Once completed the embroidery, I sewed the other diamond on the back of the previous one, using a basic blanket stitch and some beads for a more girlish result...

...a final touch : a little hole and a rat tail to wear my precious diamond...

...you know the quote "Diamonds are a girl's best friend"???
.....well, not true!!!.....till now!!!!!

Simple long necklace !!!!

Yesterday, I crocheted 2 cords (one 111 chains, the other 123 chains), using a 5mm hook and some grey acrylic....All these happened when I was in the kitchen waiting for the lunch to be ready (Paolo was cooking!)!!! ;oD

After lunch, I went in my studio where I opened some beads boxes, mostly yellow and blue and I collected even some metallic chains....The real fun started right there!!!

....my necklaces collection is getting bigger and bigger!!!!

Well, if you are asking, the blue cylinders are pencil rubber grips!!!!

Pink, orange and some little green velvety hearts!!!

It all started simply, with a 5mm hook and some acrylic yarn in pink and orange...

...and when the pink leaves were all done, they all needed some sprays of starch....

...and yes, all this orange&pink was asking for some lime green in the shape of tiny hearts....

.....some threads to stitch the hearts on....

....and just few beads...

....as embellishments for the back closure...

....and after a short while...

....the necklace is ready for your neck to wear it!!!!...

.....I'm happy!!!!! ;oD

A new necklace !!!

Just before leaving for our holidays in Lombok (here), I started to crochet a simple edging, following a pattern found on this japanese book....

....But I decided just to crochet one half!

With a 5mm hook and some pink yarn, I began to crochet 210 (plus 3 more) chains. Then I changed the colour (red) and I followed the pattern to reach this result...

...vintage button...

...but I was not so happy... so I decided to collect some hot pink (neon!) thread to sew some beads on later...

....but before all that, I blocked the "necklace to be" with some starch...

Once dried, I choose the beads to sew on : red (plastic) and hot pink (velvety)...

...see the blanket stitch?

...after a couple of hours (more or less!), a new necklace was born....

I like how the beads, because of their weight, give a better shape to the necklace!

Tomorrow I'm going to wear it!!!! ;oD
